General volunteer requirements
Must be at least 19 years of age.
Must attend volunteer orientation training session.
All volunteers are required to sign a liability release waiver.
You must shadow a volunteer lead for one session prior to volunteering in the cat playroom.

We’re currently recruiting passionate volunteers to join several committees and support roles that help power Felius behind the scenes and in the community. Whether you love being out and about, writing, planning events, or helping keep volunteers connected, there’s a role for you! Expand each title to learn more!

You’ll play a big role in helping new people discover Felius and learn about our mission to create meaningful connections between people and rescue cats.
Love chatting with local businesses and helping great causes get noticed? We are recruiting 4-5 volunteers for our Felius Street Team. Help us share posters and promo materials throughout the community. You’ll pick up materials from the cafe and place them at coffee shops, boutiques, gyms, libraries, and other friendly local spots. Become and ambassador for our mission and help us help more cats!
What you’ll do:
Pick up posters and promo materials from Felius
Visit local businesses to request and hang posters
Help share our mission, location, and upcoming events
Be an ambassador for Felius in the community

Enjoy being out and about in the community
Are comfortable talking with local business owners/staff
Want a flexible, low-commitment way to support rescue cats

We’re revamping the Felius blog and looking for 3–4 volunteerwriters to help publish monthly, educational, and heartwarming content. Each writer will have their name featured on the articles they create, helping you build your portfolio while making a real impact.Example topics include:
Understanding cat behavior
Cat first aid and common medical conditions
The importance of spay/neuter
Litter box and behavior challenges
Cat rescue success stories
Volunteer, foster, or adopter spotlights
And more - we are open to your ideas!
What you’ll do:
Write 1 article per month (with guidance and topic ideas provided)
Collaborate with our team on content planning
Help educate our community and support responsible pet ownership

Help keep our volunteer community connected, informed, and supported!
We’re looking two friendly, organized volunteers to help moderate our GroupMe volunteer chat. This role is all about creating a positive, welcoming space where volunteers feel informed, supported, and excited to be part of the Felius community.
What you’ll do:
Help moderate the GroupMe chat to keep it respectful, welcoming, and on-topic
Share important updates, reminders, and announcements from the Felius team
Help answer basic questions or direct volunteers to the right staff member
Gently redirect conversations when needed to keep things productive
Welcome new volunteers to the chat and help them get oriented
Great fit if you:
Are friendly, approachable, and good with communication
Enjoy helping keep groups organized and engaged
Are comfortable setting kind but clear boundaries in group spaces
Check GroupMe regularly and can respond in a timely manner
Time commitment:
Low but consistent. Just a few minutes a day to keep things running smoothly. -
Help bring our biggest fundraiser of the year to life!
We’re recruiting passionate volunteers to help plan and execute the 2026 Felius Gala—our largest annual fundraiser and a critical part of sustaining our open-concept shelter and programming. This committee plays a huge role in ensuring we can continue our mission in the year ahead.
Time commitment:
2 hours per month starting in March, with monthly meetings
Bi-monthly meetings during the final three months leading up to the October event
Additional support as we get closer to the event
Roles available:
Chair/Co-Chair: Oversee and manage all planning for the 2026 gala
Event Experiences Coordinator: Secure guest entertainment for our event (music, interactive vendors, etc)
Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit and train day-of event volunteers
Vendor Procurement: Work with Felius Executive Director to secure food and beverage vendors.
Marketing Coordinator: Help design event graphics and assist with marketing plan
Auction/Raffle Coordinator: Work with committee/volunteers to secure silent auction and raffle items
Sponsorship Coordinator: Collaborate with Felius Executive Director to secure 2026 gala sponsors

Help plan the event vision, logistics, and guest experience
Secure vendors, sponsors, and auction items
Support marketing and fundraising efforts
Coordinate volunteers and event-day needs
